Innovation Connectivity in the Midwest zone
We will be able to Monitor weather conditions over a wide area of the College property. A weather station to gauge rainfall and atmospheric conditions is of vital importance both in the learning and in the day to day cropping management. We will also be able see delta treading prior to spraying. Delta T is one of the conditions required for effective spraying of agricultural chemicals. Soil moisture probes to indicate application of nitrogen and showing the optimum time for post emergent spreading is another new developing technology option recently identified and now available in farming. Saline probes to indicate effects of salt bush plantings on EC levels in areas adjacent to salt effected country. These probes validate the planting of salt bush with the aim to reduce the EC levels in areas adjacent to salt bush plantings.
