Falling film evaporators

In 2018, Bingera Mill installed what was the first Falling Film Tube Evaporator (FFTE) in an Australian sugar mill. This project evaluated the performance of this FFTE over two seasons, and found that the new design performed at least as well as the better-performing #1 and #2 Roberts evaporators currently in use. The results from this project will be important for mills that are looking to replace old #1 or #2 evaporators, where for mills that have cogen facilities the FFTE design may be preferred over the more conventional Roberts design.
