Facilitated action learning groups to support profitable irrigated farming systems in the northern and southern regions.
GRDC has invested in a suite of irrigation projects across the GRDC southern region irrigation areas, including projects looking to develop and validate soil amelioration and agronomic practices for irrigated grain crops as well as maximising the dollar return per megalitre of water. To leverage off this work, this investment will assist in the establishment of eight facilitated Action Learning Groups (ALGs) in the southern Murray Darling Basin, South-East South Australia, and the South Australian/Victorian Mallee. The ALGs will use a participatory learning approach to benchmark, test and validate assumptions and key learnings arising from the proposed irrigation investments.
