Developing the sugarcane gene catalogue for trait improvement

This project developed a database using the Knetminer platform, which links a wide range of existing public databases with information on genes, molecular markers, proteins, traits, and publications. Using this database, a user can search for a trait of interest and rapidly identify the network of all genes and proteins that are known to be linked to that trait. This resource will allow sugarcane researchers to more accurately identify candidate genes that could potentially be targeted using gene editing to generate new traits in sugarcane.
