DAW00227 - Tactical break crop agronomy in Western Australia
The grain growing region of south-west WA is dominated by wheat and barley production. This investment will explore the management of break crop options with a focus on canola agronomy such as density, nitrogen rate and timing, seed system (OP vs. hybrids), and herbicide system choice. The project will adopt a participatory approach with growers and advisers identifying priority areas of R&D targeting economic benefits of the canola crop and system benefits in the rotation.
