DAN00200 - Building research capacity in the northern grains region - NSW
This project will support the recruitment and the development of research capacity within New South Wales Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) to increase the level of R&D capacity within the northern grains region priority areas. The project is designed to assist with succession planning of existing key researchers in key areas such as cereal and pulse pathology, entomology, pulse genetics, crop and soil nutrition, farming systems, crop physiology, summer crop agronomy and oilseed agronomy.
This will be undertaken in a partnership between New South Wales Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) and GRDC by appointing up to 12 positions over a five-year period on three-year terms. By the end of the project New South Wales Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) will core fund eight of these positions on an ongoing basis.
