Co-designed Scoping study to unlock the power of digital
Digital innovation lies at the heart of value adding to chicken meat. It is key to optimising individual stages of production systems such as day to day shed operations, optimising inputs and meeting product specifications, to flows into and through logistics and distribution networks and to advanced consignment and traceability systems that provides for product quality assurance and consumer engagement. This proposal takes a two-phased approach to scoping out digital innovation in the chicken meat industry. Phase 1: A design-led workshop will develop the framework for subsequent well-designed fact-finding studies that will inform digital innovation in the chicken red meat industry including traceability systems and platforms for digital operations. Phase 2: Use information from Phase 1 to work with the wider supply chain in a focussed way through site visitations, interviews and desktop analyses. The Scoping studies will include key challenges, key innovation foci and pathways to ensure that innovations include social, institutional and technological considerations.
