Automated visual yield estimation in table grape vineyards

This project will allow producers to build their own business plan to adopt technology. With the help of Australian Table Grape Assoc. (ATGA) staff, they will prepare their properties for the machine vision, work together to plan and run the visit of the machine vision equipment, learn first-hand about the technology, assist infine tuning the use of machine vision by verifying berry and bunch counts.

The ATGA staff will help translate the machine vision’s outputs into growers’ terms and run communication activities to extend the results across the industry, nationwide. It is also anticipated that as an added benefit of this project, a community of practice (CoP) for innovation in table grapes will be established to bring together similar minded/interested growers and exchange lessons learnt, etc.
