Adapting to climate change on dairy farms
Climate change is a key sustainability risk for the Australian dairy industry. Australia is already the world's driest inhabited continent with the most variable climate. Modelling suggests that climate change will increase the frequency of extreme weather events and also change climate zones across dairy regions. Impacts including water scarcity will affect milk supply and the viability of the industry in some regions. This project will investigate and develop new approaches to climate change extension. This will include online and blended approaches to climate change learning and development so that the Australian diary industry can act on farm and implement changes to address and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
