CeRDI can bring both a production and natural resource management perspective to agriculture-related projects. With a national and international profile for its eResearch applied to Agriculture, CeRDI research is characterised by innovative approaches using advanced spatial mapping, the federation of agricultural-related data from disparate sources as well as portal design, data visualisation and decision support tools.

CeRDI leads several FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable) data initiatives including those which encourage farmers, agricultural groups, research organisations and government to share more information to help the agricultural sector make better decisions. CeRDI also participates in the development of international standards for the interoperable exchange of agriculture data.
