EcoSystem Farms

EcoSystem Farms developed soilless farming platform that integrates plants and fish in a closed loop, recirculating system where the fish provide the nutrients for the plants and the plants clean the water for the fish.

The plants are grown in a large modular and scalable growing areas filled with gravel where the water constantly rises and falls (like aeroponics), where all sorts of crops from herbs up to orchard trees can be grown. The production does not need to occur inside of greenhouses or controlled environments and can fit freshwater fish, like salmon, trout barramundi and Murray cod.

All this means these setups can be made anywhere from the desert to the snow, regardless of soil quality, using as low as 1 megalitre of water per hectare per year. The system also has the option of being used as a stock waste management tool where instead of fish for the nutrients in the system we can take liquid waste and turn it into clean water and plants either as an additional crop for livestock growers or high-quality supplemental fodder whilst removing waste problems onsite.
