PIRSA: Agtech Producer Groups Programs and Fund

Opportunity for

  • South Australian based producer groups looking to explore and engage with new AgTech solutions.

Opportunity description

Industry challenge:

The AgTech producer groups aim to upskill and support producers in using technology, for industry-specific improvements.

All primary production sectors are targeted, including:

  • livestock – red meat, wool, pigs, poultry, dairy
  • viticulture
  • horticulture – tree crops, vegetables, floriculture, covered crops
  • aquaculture and fisheries
  • broadacre and grains
  • forestry
  • other commodities, such as apiary.

The groups allow producers to share knowledge and help each other in the practical application of AgTech.

Current opportunity:

The AgTech producer groups support producers in harnessing technology for industry-specific improvements.

Individual producers can apply to join a producer group, and existing groups can apply for funding with, or without a facilitator.

AgTech producer groups will meet at least 3 times over a 15-month period.

Groups will be led by a facilitator, to create a plan for what the members collectively want to learn. The format, content, and delivery of the group’s activities will be tailored to suit members’ knowledge, skills and areas of interest.

Funding is available to groups across all primary production sectors. It enables activities that:

  • explore and share AgTech experiences and knowledge
  • upskill producers and teach the benefits of AgTech
  • help producers to implement and apply technology advancements in their business enterprises.
