Industry challenge:

Traditionally small plot trials have been used to collect crop safety and efficacy data for new products coming to market. They are essential in the early stages of product development, however, fail to embrace all ‘real-world’ variables new products face once commercially released.

Laconik’s simple and easy to use on-farm trials allow small plots to be placed over entire fields. We embrace spatial variability rather than ignore it. Feedback from customers indicates that growers take more confidence from data gathered through large scale commercial trials over the yield trends generated from small plot trials.

Current opportunity:

Laconik are seeking investment from angel, venture and corporate investors for a Series A $2-3 million capital raise. The funds will be used to capture the Australian market and add new features to our software.

Laconik currently works with Australian Research and Development Corporations (RDCs), crop protection companies and growers across Australia to test new products in paddock scale trials. The technology is being used to undertake agronomy, farming systems, crop nutrition and crop protection trials.

Laconik is an enabling technology, we started in crop nutrition and are now working in crop protection, agronomy and farming systems. New opportunities to use our technology lie in conducting research for insects, rhizoctonia and biologicals.
