FarmLab – strategic partnerships for US market entry

Opportunity for

  • Seeking strategic partners to support the growth of FarmLab Agronomy Software into the US market
  • AgTech providers interested in using FarmLab Agronomy Software in the US
  • Investors interested in carbon offset generation projects in the US
  • Agronomists and advisors with key connections within the US agriculture sector

Opportunity description

Industry challenge:

Accurate and cost-effective measurement of soil is crucial as a basis for measuring sustainability, reducing fertiliser use and optimising land use in agriculture. Even today it is still uncommon to ‘georeference’ the location of soil samples and measurements taken in the field, making it impossible to understand the changes to the landscape over time.

FarmLab provides complete digital infrastructure to support farmers, consultants and agtech companies to collect data, measure and map their land, reducing the cost and increasing the accuracy around soil measurement.

Opportunity background:

FarmLab provide a streamlined soil testing process that allows users to save significant time (up to 25%) in soil sampling using a desktop and mobile app. Fundamental to this process are the integrations with soil testing labs, allowing FarmLab to match soil test results directly back to the location they were sampled at. For their users, this means they spend less time having to locate sample results in the office.

In addition to this, FarmLab provide their users with modelling tools to model soil over a farm or landmass. This is helping users, such as agronomists and consultants, give accurate recommendations to their clients when it comes to soil carbon measurement and fertiliser use.

FarmLab are live in the market, with over 700 farms on the platform covering over 700,000ha of land and have partnered with some of the largest carbon developers in Australia, who use FarmLab software to support projects for their clients. FarmLab recently closed a $750,000 seed round and have runway until 2024 with the intention to raise additional funding to scale into the US.

Current opportunity:

Seeking strategic partners to support the growth of FarmLab Agronomy Software into the US market. This could include:

  • AgTech providers interested in using FarmLab Agronomy Software in the US
  • Investors interested in carbon offset generation projects in the US
  • Agronomists and advisors with key connections within the US agriculture sector.

Potential other applications:

There are parallel markets outside of agriculture that could benefit from this, including medtech, mineral exploration (on and off-earth) and environmental consulting.
