Bayer Crop Science: Novel active microbial pesticides to improve soil health

Opportunity for

  • Principal investigators, postdocs, PhD students, startup companies, and other non-university entrepreneurs/researchers in any country are all eligible to submit proposals.

Opportunity description

Industry challenge:

Microbial pesticides have a number of advantages over chemical drugs. They are generally safer for humans and animals, they leave less residue and contamination, they are highly selective, it is more difficult for pests to develop resistance to them. Bayer is thus seeking new active microbial pesticides to control bacteria, along with fungicides and nematicides. In addition to combating pests, these can also improve soil compaction and salinization.

Current opportunity:

We are seeking a microbial pesticide that can improve soil compaction and salinization.

Solutions of interest include: Unique microbial agent

What we can offer you: Selected proposals will work directly with Bayer to establish structure & scale of a potential partnership. Funding is proposal-dependent & typically is in the form of funded research or IP licensing. Each successful submission will be partnered with a Bayer scientist who will provide guidance and feedback on the project.
