Team Australia to showcase agritech excellence on the world stage at Agritechnica

Australia’s agritech innovators will take centre stage at Agritechnica 2025 under the Team Australia Mission – a united showcase connecting producers, startups, and researchers with global partners and investors.

When Agritechnica opens its doors in Hanover, Germany, from 9-15 November 2025, more than 450,000 visitors from 149 countries will converge to explore the future of global agriculture. Recognised as the world’s largest machinery and crop-production trade fair, the event attracts the industry’s most influential manufacturers, innovators, investors, and agribusiness leaders.

For the first time, Australia will feature a unified national presence at the Australian Pavilion: a 100-square-metre hub designed to connect the country’s most innovative agritech companies with global partners, distributors, and investors.

The mission aims to accelerate export, investment, and collaboration for Australian agritech in global markets, positioning Australia as a world-class partner for innovation and technology development.

Delivered on behalf of the Australian Agritech Association (AusAgritech), in partnership with AgriFutures growAG., the Queensland Department of Primary Industries (DPI), and with support from Agritechnica itself, the mission reflects Australia’s growing ambition to compete globally as a developer and exporter of advanced agricultural technology.

“Agritechnica is the ultimate proving ground for agricultural innovation,” says Michael Macolino, Managing Director of Recode Ventures, supporting the Team Australia Mission, alongside Meg Lovegrove, AusAgritech Executive Officer.

“This mission provides a powerful opportunity for Australia to demonstrate the sophistication of our agritech sector, connect with OEMs, distributors, and corporate agribusiness, and position our companies as global-scale partners.”

As global dynamics reshape agricultural trade and investment, Australia is becoming an increasingly attractive partner for collaboration and innovation.

“There’s a lot of interest globally with trade disruption,” Michael says. “Organisations are looking to diversify their strategies, and many are seeing Australia as a stable, open market, a place to invest, trial, and commercialise technology.”

Who to meet at the Australian Pavilion

The Australian Pavilion will feature nine Australian agritech companies, spanning machinery, robotics, on-farm automation, crop intelligence, and digital platforms, each selected for their readiness to export within the next 18 months, and commitment to independently co-fund their participation within the national pavilion.

Exhibitors include SwarmFarm Robotics, DataFarming, GrainKing, KELLY Tillage, Connected Farms, CropNexus, Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE), Agtecnic, and ResonAg, representing Australia’s diverse and commercially mature innovation landscape.

Designed as more than a traditional exhibition, the pavilion will serve as a central networking hub for meetings, demonstrations, and deal-making across the seven-day event. Each exhibitor will have a dedicated pod with digital displays and meeting spaces to facilitate global connections, with technology on show from Agtecnic and KELLY Tillage.

“Our goal is to generate real commercial outcomes,” Michael explains. “This is about helping Australian companies secure distribution, partnerships, and investment – not just exposure.”

growAG.: The digital gateway for international collaboration

Alongside the physical presence in Hanover, growAG. will act as the digital gateway connecting international visitors with Australia’s agrifood innovation ecosystem.

“growAG. is where the world comes to discover Australia’s agrifood research, investment, and collaboration opportunities,” David Lord, Senior Manager, Customer & Growth AgriFutures growAG. explains.

“At Agritechnica, we can directly connect global corporates and innovators with Australian organisations ready to partner, trial, and scale solutions.”

The growAG. team will showcase the upgraded growAG. 2.0 platform’s new matchmaking capabilities at Agritechnica, with live demonstrations, and introductions, designed to convert into lasting partnerships.

Export fodder innovation in the spotlight

Among the initiatives showcased through growAG. at Agritechnica is AgriFutures Australia’s Export Fodder Innovation Challenge – an expression of interest for technologies that can reduce weather damage and improve the quality of Australia’s $500 million export hay and straw industry.

Andrew Walter, a long-time Agritechnica attendee and member of the AgriFutures Export Fodder Advisory Panel, said the innovation challenge represents one of the most practical opportunities for collaboration between Australian producers and international technology developers.

“Weather is our number one risk,” Andrew explains. “A 50-millimetre rain event over several days can turn a profitable hay crop into a loss. We’re looking for innovations that help farmers beat the weather – faster drying, smarter automation, and improved baling and moisture control.”

He believes Agritechnica is the ideal platform to engage machinery manufacturers, automation specialists, and sustainability innovators.

“It’s where the best in global agriculture come together. Having Australia represented, with a unified voice, sends a strong message that we’re ready to collaborate and hopefully use this as a springboard to showcase the strength of Australian agriculture.”

The global stage for Team Australia

The Australian Pavilion will be in Hall 5, Stand C28, at Agritechnica 2025. Throughout the week, it will host company showcases, networking events, and the Australia Night Reception, an invitation-only gathering of global agribusiness leaders, investors, and media.

Michael says the mission is also about reframing how the world sees Australian agritech, not as a niche market, but as a global testbed for scalable innovation.

“Australia faces some of the hardest agricultural challenges on the planet from climate variability to workforce shortages,” he explains.

“That pressure has made us incredibly resourceful, and it’s why so many global companies are now looking to partner here first. If we can return home with new projects underway and pathways for scaling technology globally, that’s the real win.”
