AI-driven technology transforming yield forecasts for grape and berry growers

As Australian agriculture faces increasing pressure to boost productivity and minimise environmental impact, especially with ongoing and pronounced dry conditions impacting crop yields, Bitwise Agronomy’s new AI-powered tool, Greenview, is set to revolutionise yield forecasting for grape and berry producers.

Developed by Bitwise Agronomy’s CEO and Co-Founder, Fiona Turner, a 7th generation farmer living in Tasmania but originally from New Zealand, GreenView offers a modern solution to the age-old problem of yield forecasting inaccuracies, which can be as high as 30% with traditional methods.

Bitwise Agronomy holds the largest berry data set in the world, further enhancing the capabilities of GreenView, by providing growers with unmatched insights into their crop yields.

As Fiona Turner explains, through the use of AI and machine learning, GreenView provides real-time, highly accurate yield predictions, helping farmers optimise their operations and improve profitability.

“Using AI as an agronomist could save growers millions annually by improving the accuracy of yield forecasts and enabling better planning for harvests, labour, and resources,” Ms Turner said.

“Our technology doesn’t just provide yield data — it helps farmers reduce waste, increase profits, and make smarter, more sustainable decisions.”

The technology uses cameras mounted on tractors or drones to scan and analyse vineyards and berry farms, offering insights into crop health and projected yields. This high-speed analysis also helps predict pest outbreaks and disease risks before they occur, mitigating the growing challenges posed by climate variability.

Ms Turner recently showcased GreenView at the AgriFutures Australia and growAG. Catalyst Pitch event in Sydney, where she outlined the tool’s potential to transform the global agricultural landscape.

“GreenView isn’t just for Australian farms — we’re ready to scale this globally,” she said.

“We’re seeking investment and partnerships to bring this solution to a wider audience, with the goal of making a meaningful impact on food security and sustainability worldwide.”

A global opportunity for investors

Bitwise Agronomy is now offering investment opportunities to professional and sophisticated investors, targeting family offices, angel investors, and venture capitalists.

Investment funds will be used to scale their sales operations, enhance AI capabilities, and expand into the USA, UK, and South American markets. Current clients include industry giants like Driscoll’s Global in the USA, Camposol in South America, and African Blue in Australia and North Africa. These companies represent a combined revenue of over US$5.5 billion.

The GreenView system delivers 90% or better accuracy in yield predictions, allowing the entire supply chain — from growers to consumers — to benefit from price stability and improved market outcomes.

“Accurate yield forecasting is the holy grail of profitable production, and now growers can achieve this with GreenView,” Ms Turner said.

“We’re at the cusp of scaling and are excited to partner with forward-thinking investors who are passionate about sustainability and innovation in agriculture.

“With global agricultural markets projected to exceed $12 trillion by 2030, the demand for sustainable, data-driven solutions is rising. As climate change and extreme weather events continue to challenge the industry, Bitwise Agronomy’s AI-driven technology is helping farmers future-proof their operations and increase productivity.”
